I learned that screenplay writers are people who writes scripts of an original piece or an already existing story. They try to sell their stories and when they do get sold the script gets revised and re-edited by screenwriters. Screenwriters reads scripts and revise them. Making sure they are in the correct formatting and fixing any parts of the script that they think need to be fixed. It is also hard for screenwriters to get credited on a script that they have help worked on. Only two screenwriters at max are allowed to show up at the end/beginning of movie credits. And if they have a reputation already then there is a higher chance that their name is going to be shown on the credits section.
