From my knowledge of sub-genres and the storyboard that I made with my partner. I know that all horror movies must have conflict and the main character is always hurt physically or mentally. The main character is always the one who delves into the reason of why supernatural things are happening to them and is the one who finds out about the ghost/monster's story. In most horror movies there's always a wise one, the one who helps the main character or the one who knows it all. And that person usually dies for some reason. There's always a place(town,house,city,bathroom,closet,etc.) where the ghost died, in which the main character travels to to get answers of the ghost's conflict or story.
