Warm Up 042414 { F i l m S t u d i e s }
The most important thing is to write out scene 4 and 5. Since I feel like those two are the most important scenes in the film, me and Pajnag will work together to finish those scenes.

Warm Up 041514 { F i l m S t u d i e s }
The purpose of our film is to portray the feelings a person goes through when they try to find a place in the world. Like turning over a new leaf, they start to change and see things more clearly. The purpose of art is to open up people's minds about things from their own perspectives. Like a hidden message, but it's a message that you come up with.

Warm Up 032714 { F i l m S t u d i e s }
After filling out the character chart I learned that my character (Goblin Princess) knows how to work her way around to help everyone and herself. Instead of dwelling on the bitter feelings of things she knows how to turn the other cheek like other princess's do. Even though she may be a goblin she is still a princess with her own kingdom.

What I Learned 032114
I learned that there is a lot to do when you want a certain object to be more focused. You have to think about the background not being too close up and use natural lighting when possible. You also have to make sure of how much shadow you want by adding reflection from a tin foil and adding back light if you want to. It can make the shadow smaller and can highlight a part of a person's body that you want to stand out.
Warm Up 032514 { F i l m S t u d i e s }
- Frozen
- Anna
- Character traits: Optimistic, bubbly, energetic
The character had to go find her sister and bring her back. Because she thought that bringing Elsa back would save their kingdom. Instead she was struck by Elsa's powers and was badly hurt, then she was left to die after finding out the true intentions behind her "True love".

I will help out with setting up when we film and if I have what we need for props I will bring them.

Warm Up 031914 { F i l m S t u d i e s }
I think something that would be really beneficial is for us to discuss is about the settings and the props for the story. Another thing that we all should talk about is the lighting of the story. As we go on into the story we should talk about the setting, props and lighting so that it will look good in camera. We should also talk about the tone of voice and how loud a character should talk when they're acting. Since we don't know if the camera is going to be able to catch their voices well.

Warm Up 031714 { F i l m S t u d i e s }
I believe that our character will change for the good. Because there are many things that are being handed to her and she must make decisions. When life gives you lemons, what do you do? Change is one of the most important things for a new beginning. And I feel like change for her is what will push her forward to solve her complicated problems.

Warm Up 031314 { F i l m S t u d i e s }
- It's important to understand a character before writing because it will be so much easier to build a story around the character. And when knowing the personality of a character it's easier to write out how the character is reacting to the situation. I could improve the writing of a story by giving more details and being descriptive on what the character is doing. Do they have a look of amusement, boredom, or do they always smile? But I need to know what the character's personality is first and how their attitude is towards people in order to know what to write.

Warm Up 031114 { F i l m S t u d i e s }
Looking back on my previous blogs, I think the biggest and most important scenes are going to be when Serena goes on a quest to save the prince. And when she starts changing and realizing what is important in her life. I feel like these two scenes are important because during that time she could be contemplating a lot on what her role is in the kingdom. But I'm not really sure because honestly we started off with a different story and I feel like it's going to change a lot as we move on with the storyline. So we'll see how it goes in the end u_u;.

Warm Up 030614 { F i l m S t u d i e s }
I know that lighting has a lot to do with a camera. It can make the person/object radiate or it can make the person look like it's blending into the dark. Lighting can also make a person's skin look clearer than it really is. But when it's kind of dark you can see all of their blemishes. Lighting can show how a person is feeling, because lighting can also affect a person's mood. For example if the sun is shining through the window but the window shades are closed, and there is a person sitting at the edge of the bed. What would you think the person is feeling? They could be feeling sad, or feeling confused. They could be in deep thoughts and are contemplating over things.

Best & Worst Movie Soundtracks 022714 { F i l m S t u d i e s }
Best:
- The song fits the mood of the scene, a good song for a good climax.
Gravity: "A movie this epic calls for an equally epic soundtrack, and composer Price absolutely delivers with instrumentals that illustrate the peacefulness of outer space and add a whole new coat of suspense when the time calls for it." -Buzzfeed
Worst:
- The song didn't fit the mood of the scene, or the song just wasn't even good at all.
Leprechaun In Tha Hood: "Worst of the lot is easily ‘Lep in the Hood’, rapped by Warwick Davis – the Leprechaun himself. Painfully bad." -Josh Winning from totalfilm.com

Warm Up 021814 { F i l m S t u d i e s } LATE
What were some challenges that you had with your story?
-Some challenges that I had was trying to be specific and descriptive with my story. And also trying to create a story that surrounded around my character as I wrote it out. It was also difficult to try to not change how the character was and going back to change it.

Warm Up 030414 { F i l m S t u d i e s }
A difficult thing about writing a scene was trying to figure out what was actually happening, and trying to be descriptive about it. Was the character shouting or whispering when they talked. I had to think about the setting of the scene and tried to fit the character's actions according to their surroundings. I predict that trying to create the setting for our movie when we film it will be difficult. -.- Very, difficult. Maybe.

CROSS-CUTTING:
A:
- The blue eyed white dragon
- Blue Eyed White Dragon makes his way through the dark, damp and cold cave. As he slowly wanders through the tunnels he hears a scream from one of the many directions. Listening carefully, he goes towards the direction of the sound and finds Prince Charming. Blue Eyed White Dragon frees Prince Charming and explains what has happened to his kingdom. An army of goblins start charging towards them. He sweeps Prince Charming up and charges towards the opening of the cave. As he runs out and approaches he also sweeps up Princess Serena."Quick, there is no time! We must escape before they catch us", Blue eyed dragon says as they fly off. The goblins run screaming at them and a couple of them even try to throw their weapons at them but miss. Blue Eyed White Dragon, Princess Serena and Prince Charming all escape.
- The cave must be dark, and look rocky. And the outside must look sunny with fresh green grass. For the lighting it will be dark in the cave and bright outside(obviously). Music will be a bit if suspense as Blue Eyed White Dragon walks but soon bursts into loud music as they escape off. Goblins will be wearing brown with a dark musty green sash tied around them.
The Escape
EXT.CAVE.DARK
ESTABLISHING SHOT (ONE SHOT/PANNING):

Mid-Reflection:
I think a good time length for our movie is probably 7-10 minutes max. But who knows because we all have to work on the script first to see how it goes.

Warm Up 022612 { F i l m S t u d i e s }
I'm homely? No, I'm fabulous *^* Just kidding. I'm homely because of my mom and dad's genes. But it's weird because sometimes I don't know who has the more dominant traits, my mom or my dad. People say I look like my dad but when they look at me from the side they say I look more of like my mom. Weird right? XDD Oh whales. Idek man. Being homely is awesome, you don't really have to care about anything hahahahahha. I can wake up homely and go back to sleep homely. I can eat homely and I can do whatever I want. :DDD

Warm Up 022414 { F i l m S t u d i e s }
My short story was okay, I think. I just wrote whatever flowed out of my mind and whatever I could think of for my character. Things that were challenging was trying not to edit my story and going back to it to change it. I had the urge to go back and re-edit it many times. The easy part was actually building a story around the protagonist of my story because I already had my basics planned out.

Peanut 021414 { Fi l m S t u d i e s }
Homework:
Once there was a little girl named Celeste who was born into a ninja family. She was cursed with the power of immortality. One day her family's enemies secretly came to attack them while they were asleep. She was shot in the head and was still alive. When she woke up her whole family was dead!! DUN DUN DUN. Years passed and she decided to live in Taipei, Taiwan in a house she built full of secret passages. But that house is only temporary, because she must constantly move in order to avoid people's suspicions. Her only friend is her dog named Jiggle. She is a billionaire and her job is being fabulous. Out in the streets she disguises herself as a poor woman who wonders around when really she is scanning for troublemakers. People who happen to stumble upon her sees her as a sweet and charming lady. But those who pass to the other side of her world sees that she also has a deadly side.
On her own time she likes to kill people who has done bad deeds. Her greatest wish is to be able to seppuku to be with her family. Ever since her family had passed away their name has gone out of the history book of famous ninjas. No one ever mention's any of her family members anymore. But those who do happen to know are usually already dead (because she killed them huehuehuehue).
Her greatest fear is to be alone. Many times has people tried to kill her, and yet when they are given the chance to do it. She does not die. And at the end of every battle, she looks at her enemy in a disappointed way that they were not able to fulfill her one and only wish. She soon realizes though that she could do so much more with her curse, because of it she is invincible and continues to eliminate enemies and bad guys. Making the world a bit more peaceful, and peaceful for her too. She also realizes that she has Jiggle yet knows that Jiggle too will not live as long as her. But she must face her destiny, and continue on into the future. To see what more humans could make out of the world as centuries past.
Character Sketch:
The character is an immortal female ninja who is rich and disguised as a poor person. She lives in Taipei, Taiwan in a house full of passages. Her occupation is being fabulous, and she likes to kill bad guys on her free time while she wishes to perform seppuku because he greatest fear is being alone. A close companion that she has is her doggy, Jiggle.
Mid-Reflection:
Some of the challenges that writers, directors and actors face when "working" with a character is trying to come up with the background of a character. Trying to make the character's life from up to that point and trying to think on how/why the character's attitude is the way they are. Another thing is also to try to stay in character the whole time while acting and while scripting the story.

Warm Up 021414 { F i l m S t u d i e s }
The differences between script and creative writing is that there is a certain format you must follow for script writing. And it's a lot more neat and organized. Creative writing has a more simple formatting to it and is much more descriptive with details. They both tell stories but script writing is more direct while creative writing is more abstract.

Comparison Between One Shot And Cross Cutting 021214 { F i l m S t u d i e s }
ONE SHOT
CROSS-CUTTING
The difference between these two is that cross-cutting cuts scenes and creates a scene with those. A one shot is no cutting at all and panning, or no transitions where it changes to another scene at all.
Unique Things About "Russian Ark" 021214 { F i l m S t u d i e s }
We can see the view of the person who is narrating this movie. And there isn't a lot of background music except for the music that spills out into the halls of the place. There is only natural lighting in the footage and you don't see no edits at all. Meaning there are no cut scenes and no special effects to the movie. Everything seems like it's normal, as if everyone is interacting with each other normally and no one notices the narrator at all. It's like getting a close up and realistic point of view of Russian balls ._.
The video with The Beatles singing "All Together Now" has a lot of editing in it. With cross-cutting and transitions, plus there was obviously lighting in there since they were standing behind a black background. It's very different from "Russian Ark" because it has a lot of editing and there is no one narrating the video. There's also music which I'm sure they recorded behind a studio and did it there instead of live.

Warm Up 021214 { F i l m S t u d i e s }
I learned that screenplay writers are people who writes scripts of an original piece or an already existing story. They try to sell their stories and when they do get sold the script gets revised and re-edited by screenwriters. Screenwriters reads scripts and revise them. Making sure they are in the correct formatting and fixing any parts of the script that they think need to be fixed. It is also hard for screenwriters to get credited on a script that they have help worked on. Only two screenwriters at max are allowed to show up at the end/beginning of movie credits. And if they have a reputation already then there is a higher chance that their name is going to be shown on the credits section.

Warm Up 021014 { F i l m S t u d i e s }
I will re-look through my presentation with my partner and add or delete some things. Then we will go through together about what we will present and what we will say about our topic. After that we will make sure to only say the important stuff and point out what the class should've learned from our presentation.

Warm Up 020614 { F i l m S t u d i e s }
When writing a script a person must consider the actions they want the actors to do before writing down the dialogue. They must also know what will be happening and the storyline of the script. The setting, the time phrase, and what era is the story taking place in. How the actors are going to act according to the storyline and how the tone of the dialogue will be like. For example; if the character in the script is angry the actor must then try to put that in real life and speak in an angry tone.

Warm Up 020414 { F i l m S t u d i e s }
We made a video on the different types of camera angles. There were four that we made, frog view, cross-cutting, wide/long shot and close up. And then we compared two of the four camera angles with each other. We thought about the place and the lighting of it. A challenge was trying to do the cross-cutting -.- we were confused! So the only thing that I'm a bit iffy about in the video we did was cross-cutting. But I think we did alright.
Warm Up 013114 { F i l m S t u d i e s }
A director shows a characters motive and personality by their facial expressions, what they wear and the setting around them. How the character reacts to situations is up to if the director likes it or not. And the settings in the movie help determine where the character is around in.
Warm Up 012914 { F i l m S t u d i e s }
We discussed vocabulary on directors, producers, actors, camera angles and watched a part of Monty Python's "3 questions" clip. We filled in our vocabulary sheet and gave examples for each term.
Warm Up 012114 { F i l m S t u d i e s }
My biggest challenge Thursday is trying to figure out why the wife from "Revenge" kept repeating her words like "Yes, that would be nice" and "That's him".

Reflection 011514 { F i l m S t u d i e s }
Camera angles can do many things to help hint on what is going to happen next in a film. It could show a person's point of view, or show what the person doesn't know is happening. And me as the viewer, only knows what's happening. Camera angles can show many things that is going to happen and you have to pay close attention to be able to have more understanding of what is happening along with the background music. I think there is also a big part to where the character is facing the camera. Or rather, which angle the camera is facing towards the character. As in where the light is shining at the character or how dark the shadows are in a scene. Film techniques could make a big difference in a film with it's colors and it's effects. A lot of films these days have a lot of cg because most of the things in the films are unrealistic and fictional.

Warm Up 010214 { F i l m S t u d i e s }
I watched "Miss Rose" the Taiwanese drama. I also watched the animes "Daily Lives of High School Boys", and "Sword Art Online". Miss Rose is about a secretary who makes a bet with a fortune teller, if she doesn't get married in a year then she will pay the fortune teller 1 million. But if she does get married then the fortune teller will have to strip pole dance at her wedding. Daily Lives of High School Boys is exactly what it says, high school boys who meets girls and do weird stuff. Sword Art Online is about a game in where everyone must survive, and if they die in the game they will die in real life. In order to beat the game they all must beat all 99 levels to get to the final boss in the last level. So far, they're all really good animes and dramas. In my opinion, I think the most memorable movie of 2013 was Catching Fire. Because a lot of people really liked watching the first Hunger Games movie and well, Jennifer Lawrence is gaining a lot of love from fans. So of course the movie was really anticipated and there were many people that went to watch it when it came out. Even though it really came out near the end of the year already.
